“Apokawixa” directed by Xawery Żuławski, produced by TVN Warner Bros. Discovery, was included in the Main Competition of the Polish Film Festival in Gdynia. At the Festival, the film will have its premiere screening. The title is distributed by NEXT FILM.
“Apokawixa” is a story of a group of high school graduates, tired of a series of lockdowns, who decide to organise the party of their lives by the sea. Despite the alarmingly high concentration of cyanobacteria in the Baltic and cases of strange infections, at first everything’s going fine – the beach, dancing, sex, drinking, love swoons and let-downs. Minute by minute, however, all of this starts to spin out of control. In the middle of the party, a zombie epidemic breaks out. The protagonists have to fight for their lives.
The cast includes promising actors of the young generation: Mikołaj Kubacki, Waleria Gorobets, Natalia Pitry, Alicja Wieniawa-Narkiewicz, Mariusz Urbaniec, Aleksander Kaleta, Mikołaj Matczak, Marta Stalmierska, Monika Mikołajczak, Oskar Wojciechowski. They are partnered by, among others: Sebastian Fabijański, Tomasz Kot, Cezary Pazura and Matylda Damięcka.
The Festival in Gdynia will take place between 12 and 17 September.
