In the last days of December 2022, the number of Wyborcza.pl subscribers exceeded 300,000. This is a new record for "Wyborcza" and the entire digital press market in Poland, of which the daily paper team is the undisputed leader.
- "Wyborcza" is not only the largest player in the Polish digital press market, but is also one of the top publishers in the European Union markets. We are a mature business with a strong position in an area of the Polish economy based on the subscription model. We are already observing certain trends related to seasonality in our results, and to this phenomenon we owe, in part, the success we achieved at the end of the year, measured by the number of active digital subscriptions - comments Wojciech Bartkowiak, publishing director of "Wyborcza" and member of Agora's Management Board. - Digital subscriptions are currently the most important growth path for press titles - all publishers, even the smaller ones, are following it in Poland. We have understood this trend for a long time, strongly focusing on the Internet, and soon we will also express it in a symbolic way - from 1 January 2023, the Press segment will disappear from the structure of the Agora Group, and will be replaced by the Digital and Printed Press segment.
For the first time, the number of digital subscriptions to "Gazeta Wyborcza" exceeded 300,000 in the last days of December 2022. Subscribers to Wyborcza.pl content are by far the most likely to choose the Premium package - it provides full access to the Wyborcza website and application, as well as content from "Wyborcza" magazines and information from 30 local websites.
Contributing to Wyborcza.pl's consecutive record in subscription sales were both innovations in quality content and constantly developed solutions for users aimed to improve the use of the website and applications. Significant for reaching the level of 300,000 digital subscriptions were also attractive subscription purchase offers for new users, created recently. In November, the "Wyborcza" team encouraged Internet users to purchase subscriptions during Black Friday. Meanwhile, a Christmas promotion was launched in December, additionally supported by an advertising campaign in which actress Barbara Kurdej-Szatan recommends reading Wyborcza.pl at a good price.
"Gazeta Wyborcza" introduced a system of limited free access to its content and a paid digital subscription offer as the first Polish title in February 2014. In June 2015, the daily implemented its own platform for selling digital content. Combined with the use of modern Big Data tools, this resulted in the number of subscriptions reaching nearly 77,000 at the end of 2015, although it was assumed that the daily would not cross the 70,000 threshold until 2016.
Currently, Wyborcza.pl subscribers can choose from various options. In addition to the Basic version, Premium and Club packages are available. Subscriptions can be purchased via the Prenumerata.Wyborcza.pl website or via the mobile application for devices with Android and iOS systems.
