Diversity policy

The Agora Group is one of the largest media companies in Poland. It operates in many areas of the media market and currently employs approximately 3,000 people. Diversity and openness are values which form an integral part of both the Company's business activities and employment policy. The diversity policy implemented at the Group is based on Agora's Charter, which was developed jointly between the Company and "Gazeta Wyborcza" daily.

Employees of the Agora Group come from different backgrounds and cultures, exhibit various skills and talents, represent diverse thinking styles and viewpoints and have different life and professional experience. The objective of the Agora Group is to create an organisational culture which guarantees mutual support of all employees in their daily obligations. Activities promoting diversity within the organisation help us create a diverse yet efficiently cooperating team.

Thanks to a consistent diversity policy in force, Agora attracts and employs the best experts and cares for the team's development. In this manner, the Company wants to support implementation of its strategy to the best of its abilities and to offer the highest-quality products and services to its consumers.

We believe that the most important element of the Agora Group's economic success is our strong team. Its diversity is one of the most important factors stimulating creativity, innovation and imagination. Thanks to the effectively implemented diversity policy, we can better understand our customers, readers, listeners and consumers of other services, which allows us to respond to their needs.

The diversity management policy at the Agora Group is based on overcoming barriers such as age, gender and health status - we believe that the professional potential of our employees is based on their competences. The share of men and women among our employees is nearly equal. To counter stereotypes associated with age, we are establishing dialogue across generations to facilitate the flow of knowledge. This is why there is a large percentage of people over the age of 50 among our employees. The second largest age group among our employees are people of up to 30 years of age, while the largest one - employees aged between 30 and 50. We also care about the professional activation of the disabled; this is why our employees include people with different degrees of disability.

We work to prevent discrimination based on age, gender, background and education as well as political and religious beliefs. Agora was one of the first companies to create a policy on countering workplace discrimination and harassment. Its first edition entered into force in 2003.

An important part of diversity policy implementation is creating an appropriate atmosphere at work, which makes employees feel respected and appreciated, and gives them the sense that they are able to develop and fully realise their professional potential.
