The film “Fucking Bornholm” directed by Anna Kazejak entered the 56th Karlovy Vary International Film Festival. The film will be presented in the Main Competition – Crystal Globe Competiton.
The Karlovy Vary International Film Festival is considered the most prestigious film event in Central and Eastern Europe. It is also one of the oldest class-A film festivals (besides Cannes, Berlin, Venice, San Sebastian, just to name a few). Each year, the best film of the Main Competition is awarded the Crystal Globe.
So far, the film “Fucking Bornholm” has been presented during the Krakow Off Camera festival and since 6 May it can be watched in Polish cinemas. Participation in the Karlovy Vary film festival will mark the beginning of the international path for the film.
The press reviewed the film as follows:
This film is about modern morality, ambitions, relationships and emotions, love and sex. About feelings that fade away with everyday routine. But also about the rebellion of a mature woman. (Barbara Hollender, Rzeczpospolita)
If this is a middle-age crisis, it has finally been shown from the perspective of a woman. (Zofia Fabjanowska, Zwierciadło)
The image of the “Good Polish Mother” became obsolete. For better, actually. Let's say goodbye to her once and for all! To her husband as well. (Martyna Harland, Filmoterapia.pl)
It reminds us that when we decide to live for others, it is good to remember that it’s you who should wear the oxygen mask first. (Dawid Dudko, Onet.pl)
