Only few days left to get involved into remarkable photographic competition. Until October 25 this year, photography professionals and amateurs can submit their work to second edition of The Krzysztof Miller Prize for the best photographic work of the year. The contest, established by "Gazeta Wyborcza", awards photoreporter’s courage to look and promotes photos of exceptional journalistic values. The winner of The Krzysztof Miller Prize will be announced on December 3 during a ceremonial gala. The works of all the winners will be published by Gazeta Wyborcza and on newspaper’s website Wyborcza.pl.

In September this year, "Gazeta Wyborcza" announced the second edition of The Krzysztof Miller Prize. Both professionals and amateurs of photography, individual authors and collectives of photographers, as well as members of one photo agency can take part in this competiton. 

Until October 25, participants can send their photographs on any social, political, economic or cultural topics in the main category and, additionally, as part of the newly created #PositiveImpact category - the Deutsche Bank Award, which is especially focused on materials illustrating the positive impact of an individual's, company's or community's activity. The jury will evaluate photos taken from September 1, 2018 to September 1, 2019.

The jury of the second edition of the competition, which on November 5 will select finalists, includes: documentary producer and BBC journalist Ewa Ewart; photojournalist and winner of World Press Photo and Grand Press Photo Anna Bedyńska; writer and curator Wojciech Nowicki; editor-in-chief of the fotopolis.pl website and the Digital Camera Polska monthly Maciej Zieliński; photojournalist and winner of Grand Press Photo, co-founder of Napo Images Adam Lach; editor-in-chief of "Wysokie Obcasy Extra" Ewa Wieczorek; President of the Management Board of Deutsche Bank Polska Tomasz Kowalski; publisher of "Gazeta Wyborcza" Jerzy B. Wójcik and head of the Photo Department of "Gazeta Wyborcza" Beata Łyżwa-Sokół as chairwoman of the jury. The works of 7 finalists will be presented on Wyborcza.pl/zdjecia

During the ceremonial gala of the competition, organized on December 3 this year, the name of the winner of The Krzysztof Miller Prize for 2019 will be announced. The winner of the main prize - for the best material of the year - will receive PLN 10,000, and the winner in the #PositiveImpact category - Deutsche Bank Award - PLN 5,000.

"Gazeta Wyborcza" established The Krzysztof Miller Prize for the courage to look in 2018. For the first edition of the competition for the best photographic project of the year, 300 works were submitted, i.e. nearly 5,000 photos.The winner was Anna Liminowicz awarded for a photo reportage "Między blokami" ("Between the blocks of flats") about the relationship of two women. It was published by "Duży Format" and later 'The New York Times'.
